In 1997, the EV outbreak, haze problem and some other economic problems have caused the Forth Inter-Agency Conference to be postponed to the following year.
In 1998, the Healthy City Committee decided to hold the Conference in Sibu. This is in view of the aim to extend the Healthy City Concept to other Districts in the State. The theme used for the Conference was “Enthusiasm and Commitment - The Key to Success”. This theme was selected in view that the Healthy City Programme is a multi-agency type of programme which needs much participation and commitment from various departments / agencies as well as from the private sectors.
Similarly to the last Conference, a few agencies were invited to share their experiences in carrying out the projects, which are related to the Healthy City Programme.
